Golden Mean promotes a nuanced consideration of the contexts that elevate the human experience through shared understanding of our unique gifts and challenges, dedication to empower those who feel disenfranchised, and respect for our common purpose: empowering young people to embrace their futures with confidence.

Golden Mean Tutorial Cooperative celebrates the innate curiosity of children through an innovative, family-driven program that promotes and applauds individuality. As a community, we embrace the whole child, inviting them to become an integral part of their own learning. By encouraging discovery, wonder, critical thinking and independence, members become active participants on their academic journey.

At our core, member families value inter- and intra- personal expertise over content acquisition; formulation of questions and ideas, rather than information regurgitation; scholarship and intellectual vitality instead of passive transference.  

Our responsive, individualized pedagogies engage the whole child in areas of strength and challenge. We strive to cultivate lifelong learners - eager, prepared to enter an ever changing world, and equipped with tools for 21st century success. Given time, encouragement, and strengthened internal resources, a child's wonderment becomes a most powerful ally in their learning quest.

Rather than homeschoolers, our community thinks of our student members as home “scholars.” GMTC fosters the intellectual independence that inspires our home “scholars” to become the dynamic leaders of tomorrow!
